Why Did You Become a Fertility Expert?
I wanted to make a difference in my patients’ lives, as I think any physician wants to do. But helping patients to build their families is a special and thrilling life milestone that is such a privilege to be a part of.

What is Your Approach to Patient Care?
I am all about staying in a couple’s comfort zone. Every couple I see has different challenges and experiences, so I individualize a couple’s care so that they are comfortable with whatever path we take together. I see my relationship with my patients as a partnership with my role being to identify the issues and to offer plan of care options with a medical recommendation. From there, we can together modify the options to suit the full scope of the couple's needs and circumstances.

Have Any Patients Truly Inspired You?
I have met some truly amazing people in my 10+ years in this field. One patient, in particular, whom I have been seeing for 2-3 years has experienced a journey that has not only involved her plans to build a family, but also finding herself as a person through some very unique and emotionally challenging situations. Her journey, and that of many others, has shaped the way I practice to this day.

What makes working at Boston IVF so great?
The people. We have the most dedicated staff who care deeply about doing a good job and providing the best patient care possible. They are true professionals.

How Do You Spend Your Free Time?
I have been a part of the fitness industry either as a member or a fitness professional for 30 years. I am  a certified instructor for two group fitness formats- BodyCombat and BodyPump by Les Mills and actively teach at several prominent fitness clubs in the greater Boston area. I also do Crossfit when I'm not teaching. With this experience in both fitness and nutrition, my special interest is in the reproductive needs of athletes. I also collaborate with a sports nutritionist who has been in the field for more than 25 years and has published books on the special nutritional needs of athletes.

Where is the one place in the world you would like to travel?
Australia.

What music do you enjoy listening to?
I have a very diverse taste in music. You will find anything from Whitesnake to Frank Sinatra in my iPod playlist. However, you will not find anything from the classical genre.

How Would You Describe Your Personality?
I am very genuine and straightforward. My patients appreciate that I am honest with them about their situation and trust that I won't lead them down a futile path. But at the same time, I will exhaust every possible option in the safest, most effective way to achieve their goals.

What's the Most Recent Book You've Read?
I am not a big book reader...my preference is journals and magazines. Most recently, I  subscribed to Crossfit Journal.
