5 Questions with Dr. Mary Morris, Boston IVF Reproductive Endocrinologist

Originally from South Carolina, Dr. Morris came to Boston for school and ended up raising her children here. A brief move south confirmed what she already knew—Boston was her home.

We connected with Dr. Morris to learn what inspired her career, what she believes patients truly deserve, and how she approaches caring for people through the most personal journeys of their lives.

1. What inspired you to specialize in reproductive endocrinology—and what drew you to Boston IVF?

Seeing my first delivery in medical school sealed my passion for reproductive medicine. It blends my interests in neurobiology and gynecology while allowing me to help people build their families. I was attracted to Boston IVF because it offers both the intimacy of smaller care teams and the research and innovation of a large, academic practice—giving patients both the convenience they want and access to cutting-edge technology and top experts that Boston IVF offers.

2. What has made you most proud to join this team?

From my first day, I’ve felt welcomed and valued at Boston IVF. Sitting in with providers and staff, I’ve seen firsthand their dedication to safe, compassionate care. It’s inspiring to learn from leaders who’ve shaped the field and from experienced staff who’ve supported patients for years.

3. What do you believe patients deserve from fertility care?

Seeking fertility care is stressful, no matter the reason. Patients deserve empathy, efficiency, and the thorough care which Boston IVF delivers.

4. How do you help patients navigate the emotional side of fertility treatment?

I truly enjoy every part of my work. I remind patients not to take on everything at once and to care for their mental and physical well-being. One patient put it best: “Show up for the other parts of your life” during this journey.

5. How do you see reproductive endocrinology evolving—and how will you contribute?

The field is evolving rapidly, and Boston IVF continues to make major scientific contributions. Our Harvard affiliation fosters continuous learning, helping me provide the most informed, evidence-based care.
