The result of our first frozen embryo transfer is our beautiful 20 month old daughter, Leonora!
And I am currently 35 weeks pregnant after our second frozen embryo transfer. We feel very fortunate to have had such great success with IVF and frozen embryo transfers.
How did your boston ivf physician and nursing team help to make your journey a success?
Due to the unique shape of my bicornuate uterus, Dr. Sneeringer made sure to make herself available to do my embryo transfers herself, even if it was not her day in the OR.
I really appreciate her personal care and dedication to helping us have a successful embryo transfer (twice now!)
Did anyone/anything else help you through your infertility journey?
I also did pre and post transfer acupuncture as well as weekly acupuncture after my positive pregnancy tests.
I felt the acupuncture made a huge difference in my infertility treatment.
What were some highs or lows of your treatment(s)? What is unique/different about your story?
The low was definitely the chemical pregnancy. It was really hard to wait for the loss of the pregnancy to happen, knowing this was not a viable pregnancy - but at the same time feeling truly devastating when the bleeding started - because any little sliver of hope that the pregnancy would last ended.
What advice do you have for other struggling with infertility?
Communicate with your partner. Understand how one another are feeling about infertility, the treatment, and especially how open (or not) you both want to be with friends and family about what you are going through.
My husband and I were very open about our treatment, which we both felt was helpful. However for others we know, it's a very private and personal journey.
It's important to make sure everyone is on the same page and both partners feel heard and respected throughout the whole process. You're both going through the treatment even if only one of you is the actual patient.
