At times this may all seem quite overwhelming. But in today's age it is easier than ever for both you and your partner to experience a pregnancy and become parents --  as opportunities for GLBT couples to start a family are unprecedented.

We believe that parenthood is a gift EVERYONE should be able to enjoy.

There are many options for GLBT couples looking to become parents and at your  initial Boston IVF consultation you will have the chance to discuss them with your physician and other members of your personalized fertility team. There -- you and your partner will begin to develop a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan. In addition, you'll meet  with an experienced Financial Coordinator (a liaison between both yourself and your insurance company) to learn what aspects of treatment are covered by your insurance provider.

FAMILY BUILDING FOR GAY MEN 

The process of building a family begins with a initial consultation (in person or via phone) -- where both you and your partner will have an opportunity to discuss the entire treatment process with a Boston IVF physician and other members of your personalized treatment team.

After the consultation, you will then be asked to schedule blood work and semen analysis -- a simple test conducted at your PCP office or at our Male Infertility Clinic -- which evaluates the sperm, including concentration, motility (movement) and morphology (shape).

Once semen analysis has been completed, the next phases of treatment will focus on (click links below):

• choosing a gestational carrier
• Complementary counseling session at Boston IVF (required for ALL donor egg-related patients)

• Introduction to the sperm donor selection process (you will be supplied a list of sperm banks approved by the AATB)
• PAR (Partner Assisted Reproduction (if both partners would like to be involved in the fertility process)
• Complementary counseling session at Boston IVF  ((required for ALL donor egg-related patients)
• Consent form overview
